Elaine Mae Rock

Elaine was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2011 in Reno Nevada. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Elaine was born at Saint Mary's Hospital in Reno on January 12, 1923 to Ralph and Mae Hagar of Sparks. She attended Sparks schools and graduated from Sparks High School. While at Sparks High, she met the love of her life, Dick Rock. Dick and Elaine were married on January 16, 1943 and spent the next 67 years together until Dick passed in 2010.

Together they opened Dick Rock's Ideal Drug in Sparks in 1957 and worked side by side for many years. Elaine was a charter member of the Sparks LaSertoma and a member of The Sparks Sons of Italy.

Elaine is survived by her three sons, Colonel Richard W. Rock Jr. (US Army ret.) (Doris), Gregory and Alan (Julia). Her grandchildren, Trent (Linda), Tammy, Remington (Brandi), Erik (Janette) and Sarah. Her great grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and Autumn. She was preceded by her parents, husband and brother Major Raymond Hagar.

A Rosary and visitation will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday, April 14, at Walton Sparks Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Sullivan Lane. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2pm, Friday, April 15, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2900 North McCarran Sparks with entombment at Mountain View Mausoleum.
