Della Leona Henderson, 84, died Monday, April 11, 2011, in Weatherford, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16th, at 1:00 p.m. at Anchor Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, Texas, with Dr. Dave Bryant and Bro. Rocky Lindley officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Della was born on March 31, 1927, to Oscar and Amanda Carlson of Melvin, Texas. Her faithfulness to the Lord was exemplified by teaching Sunday school for a combined total of 55 years at Bible Baptist in Wichita Falls and Central Baptist in Bowie. Della was loved and cherished by her family, friends, and fellow church members.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Paul Henderson, pastor emeritus of Central Baptist of Bowie; four children, Charles Bartlett and wife, Linda of Wichita Falls, Alan Bartlett and wife Jackie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Amanda Hayward and husband, Bill of Grove, Oklahoma, and Angela Henard and husband, Allen of Weatherford, Texas; five step
children, Ronnie Henderson and wife, Kristal of Bowie, Barbara Roberts and husband Don of Jacksonville, Florida, Becky Stephens of Waco, Texas, Kim Breeden and husband Dale of Bridgeport, Texas, and Paula Walker of Bryan, Texas, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Bartlett, and son-in-law, Clifford Stephens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
