* Navy Veteran

My husband, Bill Speck, was the son of Johnnie and Lola Speck, and the younger brother of Herbert Wyndol and Joe Dean. He served time in the Navy and was an accomplished Barber. At the time of his death he was an engineer for the L.A. Junction Railway. In his mid-twenties he was diagnosed with a terminal blood disease and as a result of certain medications, at 33, he suffered a massive stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side. Bill was one of the bravest people I have ever known. He never complained and never questioned God. He had a deep and unwavering faith. Although, he was totally bedridden, in the last year of his life, he knew he could do something important and that was PRAY. In his bible he kept a long prayer list, which he was very faithful to. We may never know how many people were helped because of Bill's prayers. I was holding his hand when he quietly and peacefully went "Home". He is survived by our daughter, Brooke Adrienne, a brother, Wydol, nieces, Paula, Stephanie & Diane and nephew Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grandparents Herbert & Iris Speck and brother Joe Speck.
