Obituary Xenia (Ohio) Gazette June 7, 1898:
(condensed)
A telegram was yesterday received in this city announcing the sad intelligence of the death, at Butler, Pa., of Mr. Daniel K. Prugh, a well known former citizen of this city.
Mr. Prugh was called here a few weeks ago by the death of his father-in-law, Mr. J. I. Wolf, and at that time be was complaining somewhat. When he left here he went to Butler, Pa., on a visit with his parents, Rev. P.C. Prugh and wife, and while there he was taken violently ill with typhoid fever. In spite of all that loving care and attention could do, he passed away at 3:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was aged 38 years. Mr. Prugh spent his entire life in this city until recent years, when he has resided in Allegheny, Pa. He was the son of Rev. P.C. Prugh, who for a number of years was pastor of the Reformed church in this city and is now superintendent of an Orphans' Home at Butler. For a long time the deceased was connected with the Hooven £ Allison Co. of this city, being one of the office force. Ten or twelve years ago he located at Allegheny, where he engaged in the manufacture of mirrors, frames, etc., the firm name being Conroy, Prugh & Co. About nine years ago he was united in marriage in this city to Miss Mildred S. Wolf, daughter of the late J. I. Wolf. She survives him and has the deepest sympathy of all in thus being doubly bereaved within a few weeks of father and husband. Two children are left: Philip, aged 8 years and the baby, about nine months. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Ed N. Prugh, Rev. John Prugh and Will S. Prugh, all of Pittsburg, and Mrs. Rev. Harnish and Miss Grace Prugh, of Butler, Pa. The deceased was a member of the Reformed church, being one of his brother's congregation. The remains will be brought here for burial on Thursday morning, the funeral services taking place from the residence of Mrs. J. I. Wolf, of East Church street, on Thursday morning at 10:45 o'clock. The burial will be at Woodland.
