FLORENCE McDONNEL

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Benz Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Florence McDonnel, 85, of 420 N. Weber Ave., who died Sunday afternoon at a local hospital.

Dr. John V. Madison will officiate at the rites. Interment will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park.

Florence R. Virgil was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Sept. 17, 1875. She was married to Edwin McDonnel in Ayshire [sic, Ayrshire], Iowa, on Feb. 21, 1900. The couple farmed near Ayshire until moving to Lake Wilson, Minn., in 1910. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1923 when Mr. McDonnel joined John Morrell & Co. Mr. McDonnel died in November, 1949.

Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Johnson, Abal, Okla,; Mrs. Nellie Requa and Mrs. Edna Thompson, both of Humansville, Mo.; Mrs. Fannie Learmont, Humboldt, Iowa, and Mrs. John Vahle, Collins, Mo., a son, Merle, Sioux Falls, and a brother, Leon Virgil, Lorenz, Iowa.
