He was born July 4, 1940, in Henry, IL, the son of the late Guy K. and Wilma (Horack) Child. He graduated from IL State College, where he studied art education, and he enjoyed painting and sculpting all of his life. He resided in Montana until he moved to Homosassa, FL, in 1994 where he met many friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Julee Tranchita of Ottawa, IL, and Heidi Shaw (Bob) of Peoria, IL; sister, Kay Steele (Terry) of Homosassa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held in IL.
