Nancy Albertha Artis was born on December 9, 1927 in Bluffton, South Carolina. She was the only child of Emma Bruin. She moved to Savnnah Georgia where she attended Beach High School. While a student, she met Joseph Cecil Artis, who became the love of her life. At the age of 17 the couple married. Joe nad Nancy moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1964.Their blessed union lasted 64 years.From their marriage six children were born. Nancy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, where she served faithfully on the Usher Board for many years.Nancy departed this life on May 3, 2010. She was preceed in death by her mother Emma Bruin in 2000 and her beloved son, Tyrone Artis in July 2009.Nancy leaves to cerish her memory: her loving husand, Joseph Cecil Artis, Sr; her children: Joanne Harley, Gwen Artis Goggins (George), Joseph Cecil Artis Jr., Ronald Artis (Anita), and David M. Artis (Dale Ann). Nancy also leaves behind five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a host of extended familly, friends and her beloved Mt. Moriah Church family.
