Harry Secrist----- MUSCATINE -- Harry E. Secrist, 92, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at the Lutheran Homes in Muscatine. Services will be Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Terry E. Harmon, Kevin Harmon, Robert Curtis, Kim Kingkade, Mark Kingkade, and Tony Onstot. The Rev. Robert Ahlstrom will officiate. Burial will be at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Homes. Mr. Secrist was born on March 12, 1906, in Muscatine, the son of William "Dutch" and Emma Husen Secrist. He married Blanche E. Altmann on Sept. 21, 1927 in Muscatine. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, National Geographic Society, Moose Lodge and Moderan Woodman. He graduated from Brown's Business College in Muscatine in 1920. He farmed in Illinois, then worked at Huttig Sash and Door Co. for 25 years. He worked at S. G. & P. Steins Furniture Warehouse. Survivors include four daughters, Donna Kingkade of Des Moines, Harriet Harmon and her husband Dale, of Muscatine, Lois Maryann Zeug and her husband, Dale, of Orion, Ill., and Bonnie Tietje of Bettendorf; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Blanche; a brother Clarence; a sister, Helen Mueller; and two sons-in-laws William Kingkade and Michael Tietje.-----Additional Info: 1930 Drury Township, Rock Island County, IL, census taken 11 April 1930; Harry Secrist 24 born IA, father born IL, mother IL, age 21 at first Marriage; Blanche wife 23 born IA, father Germany, mother IA, age 21 at first marriage; Donna Marie daughter 2 years and one month born IL; Harriet daughter 1 born IL.
