Avis J. Aker, 82, of Etna Green died at 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 in Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was a homemaker, and had been a seamstress at Bornemann Products. She was a beauty school graduate and owned her own beauty shop. She was born in Poneto on Feb. 25, 1924, the daughter of Reuben and Blanche Wolf Kunkel. She was married on April 26, 1944 to Glenn L. Aker, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 1, 1995.
Avis is survived by her daughter, Becky Golden of Etna Green and her son Glenn Aker, Jr. of Bourbon, along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Norman, Arden, John and Luster Kunkel.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home in Bourbon. Interment is planned for Etna Green Cemetery.
