William Donald Bartine, 63, a retired farmer, died at his home in Clemons Monday morning, December 27.

He was born November 16, 1908 at Clemons and spent all his life near here except seven years in South Dakota as a boy.

He married Hulda Rolston March 31, 1934 in Nevada, Iowa. He was a member of United Church of Christ at Clemons. He graduated from Zearing High School and attended business college in Marshalltown.

He is survived by six children; James Bartine of Clemons, Major Jon Bartine of Madrid, Spain, David Bartine of Bondurant, Mrs David (Nancy) Goodlove of Central City, Mrs Richard (Debbie) Jones of Clemons and William Bartine of Clemons.

Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, John Bartine of Marshalltown, Mrs Joe (Louise) Wagner of Chamberlain, SD, E W Bartine of Clemons, Mrs E W (Lois) Shives of Clemons, and Cyrus Bartine of Cedar Falls; and also 12 grandchildren.

Mr Bartine was preceded in death by his parents, Mr and Mrs C R Bartine, and a brother Charles.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at the Clemons Church with Rev L T Proctor and Rev Harry Lake in charge. Burial will be in the Clemons Cemetery.
