US Congressman. He graduated from the law department of Baldwin-Wallace University Ohio, in 1901, was admitted to the bar and proceeded to practice law in Sandusky, Ohio. He served as Sandusky City Solicitor, and as judge of the common pleas court of Erie County. In 1931, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-second, Seventy-third and Seventy-fourth Congresses, serving until 1937. An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the practice of law until his death at age 75.
