US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1919 and commenced law practice in Napoleon, Ohio. In 1931, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-second Congress and to the three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1939. A unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law and was court bankruptcy attorney for the northern district of Ohio, until his death.
