The following obituary was published in "The Indiana Democrat" (Indiana, PA) on Thursday, November 27, 1884, page 2, column 5:

BREWER--On Nov. 15, in Washington tp., of comsumption of the bowels, Oliver C. Brewer, son of James and Sarah Brewer, aged 14 years, 10 months and 21 days.

How hard it is to part with Ollie,
But we know he is at rest;
He has gone to join the loved ones
Up in Heaven among the blest.

We know not when we shall meet him,
But when our race has ended here,
if we live and no [sic] our duty
We shall meet him there.
