The funeral of B. F. Hodsdon occurred Monday afternoon at his late residence on Upper Street. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Sanborn. A large number of relatives and friends of the deceased were present. For many years Mr. Hodsdon had been in feeble health and a great sufferer. His disease resulted from lead poisoning, in having been a painter for many years. He found it necessary to be constantly under the spell of narcotics to get any relief. He was an excellent work man at his trade and often did the work when it must have been torture to him, yet he made no complaints. He was in the war of the Rebellion and a few years ago he obtained a pension which as a great relief to him. He was a number of Nezinscot Lodge F. and A.M., and for many years one of its officers. He was the father of thirteen children, eleven of whom are still living. Ten were present at the funeral, Mrs. Conant being absent on account of illness. His widow, several brothers and sisters and other relatives also survive him. He was nearly 67 years of age.
