Ella was born May 16, 1944 in Aspermont, Texas to the union of Zachry Andrew and Minnie Allene (Anderson) Greer. While in high school she played basketball developing a great love for the game. One of Ella's favorite past times were painting. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Baxter Springs. She was united in marriage June 8, 1974 in Abilene, Texas to Fred Myron Turnipseed. He preceded her in death June 4, 2006.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one granddaughter Kimberly Chyanne Worthington who preceded her in 1987.
Survivors include four sons; Monty Worthington of Kerrville, Tx, Kerry Worthington of Midland, Tx, Larry A.T. Cole and wife Patty of Diamond, Mo, and Joel Turnipseed and wife Amy of Arlington, Tx; three brothers, Zachry Greer and wife Dorothy of Abilene, Tx, Johnny Greer and wife Eva of Aspermont, Tx, and Richard Greer and wife Karen of Abilene, Tx; two sisters Leta Harvell and husband Paul of Whitesboro, Tx, and Patsy Haner and husband Dallas of Amarillo, Tx; one sister-in-law Jo Cannon of Amarillo, Tx; five grandchildren, John Worthington, Jennifer Worthington, Wayne Bailey, Tisha Savage, and Colton Turnipseed; four great-grandchildren, Darren Russow, Blake Savage, Mercedes Bragg, and Devon Bailey, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
