In September 1907, a few years after their marriage, George and Fannie Clarke bought the historic plantation home called "Seclusaval" in Augusta, Georgia. The house, built in the 1800s, is on the site of the Windsor Springs, a source of drinking water back to Revolutionary War days. Mr. Clarke also purchased the Windsor Springs Water Company on the property. Widowed in 1933, Fannie and her children took over operation of the business. In 2004 Windsor Springs was still owned and managed by Fannie's then 100 year old daughter, Ella Clarke Nuite.
