US Congressman. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1899; was admitted to the bar and started his law practice the same year. He served as the Sheboygan County district attorney from 1905 until 1911 and was the city attorney from 1913 until his election in 1917. He served five terms in the US House of Representatives, from March 4, 1917 until March 3, 1927. Voigt was a member of the Agriculture Committee, securing the passage of the "Voigt Filled Milk Law," which benefited the dairy interests of his state while protecting the consumer against fraud. Rather than run for reelection in 1926, he returned to his law practice and was elected judge of the fourth judicial district in 1928 and 1934. He served until his death at his summer home in Crystal Lake.
