Dennis J. Enroth, 64, of Keewatin, died Friday, April 15, 2011, in Fairview University Medical Center in Hibbing.

He was born in Hibbing to Gunnard and Jeanne Enroth Oct. 7, 1946, and graduated from Hibbing High School. Dennis was employed with National Steel as a maintenance mechanic retiring in 2000 after 35 years of service. He was past president of USWA Local 2660 as well as chairman of the grievance committee.

He enjoyed wintering at the Indian Skies Park in Coolidge, Ariz., and spending summers on Ely Island at Lake Vermillion. Dennis cherished time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed many activities including curling and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; father Gunnard; brother Clifford; and sister Jeannine Avery.

Dennis is survived by his children, Thomas Enroth of St. Paul and Jennifer (Shawn) Woodman of Nashwauk; his mother, Jeanne, of Hibbing; brothers Carl (Angie) Enroth of Tower and Gerald (Joanne) Enroth of Hibbing; sisters Marilyn Savolainen of Hibbing and Paulette (Randy) Tupa of Virginia; grandchildren Dylan Danielson, Samantha Woodman, and Sabrina Woodman; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his very special friend, Julie Tuin, of Keewatin.

VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 18, in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, and 10-10:45 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Ryan Moravitz as celebrant. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Woodman, Dylan Danielson, Joshua Savolainen, Peter DeNucci Jr., Kevin Noonan, Rory Aimonetti, Pat Savage, and Jim Avelsgard.
