Jacob married Josephine Williams on September 25, 1917. They had 7 children: Jerome A, LaVerne, Elvira Peggy, George, Patrick Joseph, Mary, and Aloysius H.

OBITUARY provided on March 10, 2012:
Jacob Kerber, 77, passed away Friday, Nov 7, after a prolonged illness. Mr Kerber was residing at Friendship Manor at the time of his death.
Born at Chanhassen, Mr Kerber was married to Josephine Williams on Sept 25, 1917. Mr Kerber farmed in Chanhassen until 1953 when he retired and moved to Shakopee.
Mrs Kerber survives her husband, along with two sons, George of Hopkins and pat of Chanhassen, and two daughters, Mrs Mark (Laverne) Vierling of Shakopee and Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Pruden of Pacific Palisades, Calif. Dan Kerber of Excelsior also survives his brother.
Funeral services were held from St Mark's Catholic Church in Shakopee on Monday, Nov 10, with the Rev Francis Eret officiating. Burial took place at St Mark's Cemetery in Shakopee.
Pallbearers were nephews of Mr Kerber and included: Donald Kerber, Gerald Williams, Jerome Kerber, Francis Shutrop, Guido Kerber, and Art Pass.
Mr Kerber was a lifetime member of the Catholic Aid Association.
Philipp's Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
