US Congressman. He was born to Frederick Hyneman and Catherine Klein Hyneman in Reading, Pennsylvania, and he was educated locally in common schools. After his education, he decided to run for public office and was elected as a Member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives serving in that position in 1809. He also served as a Member of the Pennsylvania State Legislature and as a Clerk of the Orphans' Court from 1810 to 1816. He then ran for a seat in the United States Congress and was elected. A Republican, he then served Pennsylvania's 3rd and 7th Districts (Twelfth and Thirteenth Congresses) in the United States House of Representatives from 1811 to 1813. He resigned from the United States Congress on August 2, 1813, and he was not considered a candidate for renomination in 1814. During the War of 1812, he served with the rank of Adjutant General in the Pennsylvania Militia and was later commissioned to the rank of Brigadier General also with the Pennsylvania Militia. He lastly served as a Surveyor of Berks County, Pennsylvania, in 1816. He was married to Jane Hyneman with whom he had thirteen children. He passed away on Aprl 16, 1816, in Reading, Pennsylvania, at the age of 44.
