Death of Mrs. Sarah Lowe -

Former Wapello County Citizen Passes Away at Glenwood Missouri -

On November 2, at Glenwood, Missouri, occurred the death of a former Wapello county citizen, Mrs. Sarah Lowe, who will doubtless be remembered by many of the citizens of this place, having resided in this county from 1850 to 1884. Deceased was born in Ohio, December 25, 1812. was married to Eden Lowe in 1831.

She resided with her husband in Ohio until 1850 when they removed to Wapello county where she lived until 1884, removing in that year to Missouri, which was her home until the time of her death.

She was the mother of ten children, six sons and four daughters, eight of whom are living and are as follows: John Lowe of Madison county, Ohio, George Lowe of Harrison county, Missouri, Eden Lowe of Wapello county, David Lowe of Glenwood, Missouri, Mrs. Hannah Owens [sic] and Mrs. Mary Day of Glenwood, Missouri, Mrs. Lydia Anderson of Glenwood, Iowa, and Mrs. Nancy Mullennix of Minnesota.

Many later documents say Sarah was born in Ohio, but Virginia appears more likely, based on her parents' residences, and in the earliest record found, the 1850 census, she indicated birth in Virginia.
