Verla Rae Smith Wanberg passed away on April 18, 2011 at the age of eighty-three. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was born October 3, 1927 in Draper, Utah to Joseph L. Smith and Melissa Ann Fitzgerald.
She married Kenneth L. Wanberg on September 24, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a devoted mother and showed her children how much she loved them by her acts of kindness and love.

She was an active member of the LDS Church all her life. She loved to travel with her sweetheart. They had many adventures together.

She is survived by her children, Linda Marchant (Bruce), Lorna deJong (Martin), Sharlene Paul (David), LaMar Wanberg (Annette), and Penny Uriarte (Howard); nineteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Smith (Barbara); sisters, Wanda Allred and Reva Norris. Preceded in death by her sweet husband, Ken; parents; sisters, June, Ruth, Erma, and Celestia; and brother, Arnold.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the Midvale Third Ward Chapel, 7825 South Olympus Street. There will be a viewing held on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), and Friday from 11:00-11:45 a.m. at the Church.
Interment: Midvale City Cemetery.

Oh my dear sweet cousin. I loved the time we spent together. Thank you for trusting me to tend the twins when you lived next door. I loved you and Kenny so much.
