Curtis R. Nolen, 87, of Fredericksburg died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Hughes Home.

Mr. Nolen was a World War II Army veteran. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Ribbon.

Mr. Nolen worked at American Viscose and then Lee Cooke Radio & TV Repair Service. In April of 1961 he opened Nolen Radio & TV which he operated for 35 years. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and Chancellor Ruritan Club.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Newton Nolen; two sons, C. Wray Nolen and wife, Cathy of Spotsylvania and Larry Nolen of Bealeton and friend Tammy.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 21 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Duane Alexander, Bruce Brunton [replaced by Roger Chapman], Steve Michael Brunton, Greg Garner, Charles Kendall, and Eddie Rowe.

Memorials may be made to Mary Washington Hospice 5012 Southpoint Parkway Fredericksburg, VA 22407., or the Alzheimer's Association 2217 Princess Anne St. Suite 106-1F Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

The family would like to express their gratitude and sincere appreciation to Hughes Homes and Mary Washington Hospice for the love and care given to Mr. Nolen.
