Daniel worked for the railroad most of his life. He was a steam engine engineer for the Pacific Coast Railroad. He was married in 1900 to Katherine "Katie Ann" Sullivan, (the oldest Sullivan daughter) and they had 3 daughters, Marcella, Genevieve and Mary Kate. They lived in San Luis Obispo for about 40 years.
