4, 1973, this poem was given to each person attending:

We're so happy you could be with us
On this our Special Day.
Our 50th Wedding Anniversary.
It's such a joy, we'll say.

Not too many ever attain
The special joys of this "GOLDEN DAY"
We've had the bitter with the sweet
But we've tried not to complain.

We have such a wonderful family.
And through all the joy and tears,
We've kept our home - a home of love,
Throughout these many years.

Now, if there should be
Something else we could do,
We'll simply "Trust in God"
To see us safely through.
