SCRANTON: Mr. A. T. Evans, 71, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness.
Mr. Evans was born November 5, 1938, in Florence County, a son of the late Johnny Melvin Evans and Ollie Rebecca Miles Evans. He was a retired automobile mechanic with Ford Motor Company and was married to the late Virginia McDonald Evans.
Surviving include: His special friend, Patsy G. Barnett of Scranton; sons, Tommy Evans and his wife, Susan of Lake City and Michael Barnett of Scranton; daughter, Lisa E. Evans and her husband, Rickey of Conway; grandchildren, Lauren Evans and Weston Evans of Conway, Claire Evans and Adam Evans of Lake City; sisters, Marie E. Watts and her husband, Bo of Hebron, Grace E. Noll and Patsy R. Evans of Florence; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Lee Campbell and Claire Evans and a brother, Marvin M. Evans.
Graveside funeral services will be at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Lake City Memorial Park directed by Carolina Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:30 P.M. Sunday at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC, and at other times at the home of: Tommy and Susan Evans, 224 Brantley Street, Lake City, SC.
