From Contributor: Travis Holt (48272081).
My Great Uncle once told me that George was a kind old man who lived up Dry Creek near Mt. Judea. Said he lived on hog meat, since they were so poor, and the locals started calling him 'Hog Thief George.' My Great Uncle's father once took him deer hunting, since he had never been. Said that the dogs chased a big deer onto them and he heard George fire his gun dry. He walked over to the stand and asked George where the deer was. George told him he got so excited at seeing such a big deer that he emptied his rifle out before he noticed the barrel was pointed straight up!
