Mary (DiStasio) Bova, 91 years young, formerly of Wilmington and Tewksbury, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, April 10, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at the Steven-Bennett House in Haverhill.

Mary was born in the North End of Boston on June 26, 1919, she was the cherished daughter of the late Vincenzo and Carmela (Catalano) DiStasio.

Mary was a talented seamstress in Boston for many years before moving with her family to Wilmington. She was a sales clerk at Simons in Wilmington and then at Stuarts Department Store in Tewksbury, prior to retiring. Mary was a member of the Tewksbury Council on aging and a long time volunteer for the Tewksbury Senior Center.

Mary was always her happiest surrounded by her family and she enjoyed cooking for all. Her recipes will be forever cherished and enjoyed.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Bova, devoted mother of Diana Hubbard and her husband Donald of Atkinson, NH, and Denise Elworthy and her husband Stephen of Merrimacport, MA, loving grandmother of Donald Hubbard, Jr., Joseph Hubbard, Brian Elworthy, Craig Elworthy, Kelly Elworthy, and six great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of the late Ricco DiStasio, Susie Coluccio, Anthony "Kayo" DiStasio, Jennie Trippiedi, Angie Palmisanno-Walsh, Carmela Venezia, and James DiStasio.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte.62), Wilmington on Wednesday, April 13th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Tuesday, April 12th from 4-7 p.m.

Memorial donations in Mary's name may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
