Edward A. Skelton, 93, of 13414 N. Cascade Road, died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Stonehill Care Center.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Skelton owned and operated E & F Auto Service - auto- body shop and car sales.
He was born on June 1, 1908, in Dubuque, son of James and Bertha (Moscher) Skelton. He married Agnes Blocklinger on Sept. 2, 1933, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubuque; she died on May 3, 1986.
He was a member of St. Mary's Parish, the Eagles Club and the Mercy Advantage Club. He enjoyed watching auto racing and playing cards.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn A. (Frank) Ehrlich, of Dubuque; a son, Donald E. (Alvina) Skelton, of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Dan (Lindsay) Skelton, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Julie (Royce) Fichtner, of Waterloo, Iowa, Carolyn (Jeff) Lee, of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Don (Virginia) Ehrlich, of Dubuque; and four great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Ollie (Alma) Robinson, Mrs. George (Naomi) Groh, and Mrs. Nick (Grace) Ervolino; and four brothers, Harold, Raymond, Joseph "Speed" and Thomas Skelton.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque, 2255 Kennedy Road, Dubuque, Iowa 52002.
