DENZER, BENJAMIN

Benjamin Denzer, 84, died Friday in St. Cloud. He was born in LeSeur, Minn, June 20, 1896, to the late Charles and Nancy Denzer.

On Sept. 16, 1908, he married Sarah Martin, Birchdale Township, Todd County, and farmed there until he retired in 1970. He resided at the Sarepta Home until January 1971 when he moved to the St. Cloud Nursing Home.

He is survived by children, Charles, Sauk Centre; Kenneth, Reed, Joseph, Willis, and Mrs. Ordeon (Ruth) Egland, Minneapolis; Mrs. Alvin (Loretta) Pettit, Hamilton, Mont.; Mrs. Earl (Nancy) Pittman, becker, Minn.; Mrs. Ben (Maedean) gettel, Lengby, Minn.; Loren, Valdosta, Ga.; brother, Garfield, Spokane, Wash.; sister, Mrs. Pearl Danielson Minneapolis; 39 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah in 1966 and two sons, Chester and Bennie.

Mr. Denzer was an ardent baseball fan and was very fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at the Assembly of God church, Rev. Raymond Weets officiating. Mrs. Carlyle Key played the organ and accompanied Mrs. Alice Martinson and Gladys Denzer. Internment was in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Charles, Loren, Joseph, Willia(sic) and Russell Denzer and Alvin Pettit.

Relatives attending from a distance were: Mrs. Pearl Danielson, Minneapolis; Mrs. Louise Denzer, St. Cloud; Mrs. Verna Schultz, Osakis; Mrs. Tillie Martin, Long Prairie; Mrs. Jesse Martin, Long prairie; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Simonson, Richfield; Mrs. Fred Bradock, Prior Lake; Howard Carlson, Prior Lake; Mrs. Harold Eggert, Minneapolis; Mrs. Bud Ziebarth, Minneapolis; Mrs. Bill Denzer, Savage; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Pittman, Richard & Stephanie, becker; Mr. and Mrs. Russel Denzer, Mpls; Mr. and Mrs. Delwin Burr, Alexandria; Mrs. Bud Hitchins, Villard; Mrs. Clarence Mikkelson, Pendelton, Oregon.

All his children with the exception of one were present.
