Sandra Kay "Sandy" Helms, 63, of Columbus, Kansas passed away April 21, 2011 at Medicalodge, Columbus, Kansas after a short illness.
Sandy was born April 17, 1948 in Joplin, Missouri. She was the daughter of Paul and Vera Wells Brassart.
She was a member of the Columbus High School Class of "1966".
Sandy married Robert Helms on April 20, 1968 they just celebrated their 43 wedding anniversary.
She was a member of the Oswego Christian Church.
One of her favorite things to do was meeting her friends for coffee at the Pizza Hut. Sandy was a loving wife, mom and grandma who loved spending time with her family and friends.
Sandy is survived by two sons; Robert P Helms of Oswego, Kansas and Jeffrey "Mike" Helms and wife Tina of Columbus, Kansas, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Gracie Michelle Helms.
Family will receive friends and loved ones for a joint memorial service for Sandy and Eddie Helms, Thursday, May 5, 2011 6:00-8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Columbus, Kansas. Burial will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be posted at www.murdockfuneralhomes.
