Violet May Hampton, aged 86 of Tallahassee, FL., went to be with her Lord (and her dogs) Monday, April 18, 2011 in Grand Rapids, MI.
Surviving were her 2 sons, Harvey and Sue Hampton, IV., K.C. and Karen Hampton; 6 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The former Violet Rice was a graduate of Florida State University, served during WWII in the U.S. Marine Corp, was a secretary for the government, worked with the Tallahassee Humane Society where she found homes for orphaned dogs, and volunteered at the veterinarian clinic for 35 years.
