Stephen Potter De Mallie

Born in Middlesex County, Lowell, Massachusetts 14th of January 1923.
MOTHER: Mrs.Madeline Julia De Mallie (Potter) (1894 - 1962)
FATHER:Isaac Ernest De Mallie (1887 - 1951)

Married :Miss Mary Elizabeth Bowles Harvey in Wilmington, Delaware 18th of August 1951 in the Second Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware,

Decorated US Navy veteran.

Passed away in Oradell, Bergen County, New Jersey .

August16, 2008, at Bethlehem United Methodist Protestant Church in Roseland, Nelson County, Virginia Reverend C. Randall Harlow officiating.

I married you on 18 August 1951 in the Second Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware, where we
worked for DuPont and we had the reception at the University Club just a block from the church.
I had passed you many times going in the opposite direction to work and had observed you at the
DuPont Country Club and when one of the guys wanted me to meet you, I was pleased and then the next day you got orders to report to Brooklyn and left on 22 May for Lowell and had to report for duty 1st June and your father died on 9 June and you had to get emergency leave and
I went to Lowell by train the next week-end and met your mother,
Uncle Dan and Aunt Polly and decided that your family was a lot
like mine in Virginia. Your mother sent me with you to take
the dishes back to the friends who had sent food in and that was her way of introducing me to her friends. They were all curious
and seemed just like the people from Virginia. You and I were married for almost fifty seven years and we had a very good &
interesting life together. I am
glad I made the decision to give
up attending only meetings that
I could include you. DAR was very
kind to let me bring you to our
meetings. After I broke my knee
and you went to Potomac Homes
they were very kind to you all 8 years that you were there. I am
still driving the Garden State Park
-way (at least I feel that way).
God bless you as you have begun a new journey.
