MONTEREY -- Funeral services for A.B. Hinson, 63, of the Tyler Point Community of Overton County, were held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 8, at the Harris Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hinson died on Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1935, in Overton County to the late George Lynn and Alice Harris Hinson. Mr. Hinson was associated with the Oster Corporation. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
His family includes his wife of 44 years, Jearline Phipps Hinson; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dimple Hinson of Monterey; a sister, Lillie Looper of Rickman; three brothers, A.V. Hinson of Nashville, Eulas Hinson of Monterey, and Freeman Hinson of Anderson, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Stacy and Beth Hinson, both of Monterey.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Tinch and Jesse Oakley; four brothers, Arie, Calvin, J.T., and J.C. Hinson; and a granddaughter, April Nicole Hinson.
Pallbearers were Junior Key, Claude, Joe, and Dennis Looper, Mark Hamaker, and Deloy Hinson.
Rev. Jerry Harris and Dr. Michael T. Cox officiated at the services.
