MILFORD, DE. -- Alice T. "Sue" (Jenkins) Brumbaugh, of Catherine Drive, Milford, DE., passed away from resperitory failure on Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 at Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE. She was 78 years old.

Sue was born in Chester, PA., to the late William F. and Mary (Steimer) Jenkins. She was given the nickname "Sue" by her grandmother Sadie Wright, of Townsend, DE., who played a major part in her life after her mother passed away when she was five years old, and became her biggest role model.

She was raised and educated in Boothwyn, PA., where she attended Upper Chichester Township High School.

Sue was a woman who was devoted to her home, her family, and God. She loved attending to her two cats (Leroy and Missy), and enjoyed watching wild birds at her bird feeder early in the mornings from her dining room window. But, what she loved most in life was time spent with her family. She enjoyed every visit, outing, or even just a quick trip to the store with any of her six children.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert E. Brumbaugh Sr. who passed away October 10th, 2001. And also her parents, William F. and Mary (Steimer) Jenkisns, two sisters, Mary E. Weir, and Shirley Cordingly, and one brother, William Jenkins.

Sue is survived by her three daughters, Susan J. Mattera (Kevin) of Claymont, DE., Teresa L. DiCecco of Wilmington, DE., and Lisa M. Tisdel (Dan) of Milford, DE., and her three sons, James A. Henry (Barbara) of New Castle, DE., Robert E. Brumbaugh Jr. (Karen) of Bear, DE., and John C. Brumbaugh of Lincoln, DE. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be Monday, April 25 at 1 pm at the JOSEPH A. WARD FUNERAL HOME, 1459 Market St., Linwood, PA 19061. Friends and family may call from 12-1 pm at the funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
