Harry W Deardorff, 74, well known farmer and fruit grower, died at his home in Cashtown this morning at 6:32 from a complication of diseases. He had been in ill health for eight years and was bedfast since May 23.
Mr. Deardorff was born in Adams County, a son of the late John Adam and Catherine Elizabeth (Trostle) Deardorff. He was a member of Flohr’s Lutheran church; Good Samaritan lodge of Masons 336, Good Samaritan Royal Arch chapter 266, Gettysburg Commandery 79, Zembo Shrine of Harrisburg; Gettysburg lodge of Elks, and the Cashtown Fire company.
He was a director of the Gettysburg National Bank.
His wife, the former Sarah Ellen Bucher, died June 20, 1923.
Surviving are two children, Mildred E, at home, and Kermit H, Cashtown; three brothers, J Allen, Biglerville R2; Curtis W, Lansdale, and Roy O, Middletown, Ohio.
Funeral services Sunday at 2:00 from the Bender funeral home conducted by the Rev Robert C Schiebel. Interment in Flohr’s cemetery.
