Gunda's father was Iver Aason (Aasen) Knutson (Knudsen in Norway) born on April 22nd, 1854, Aasen Övre Gard, Vågå (old spelling Vaage), Norway and died on May 9th, 1926, Spokane, Spokane CO, WA (they had gone out west to live with a daughter). Iver had two brothers that were living in American, at the time of his death; Ole and Andrew. He is listed in the 1895, 1900, 1910, and 1920 census for Rice lake, Barron CO, WI. In the passenger ship records we find: Iver K Aasen (Knudsen/Knutson), laborer aged 37, and Anna Aasen (Jørgensdatter), 60 year old widow, left Christiania (Oslo, Norway) on July 1 1892 on the ship Montebello, to go to England. They listed their destination New York. They arrived on the Steamship Adriatic (built 1871) from Liverpool, arriving at NY on July 16, 1892. Info from ship record: Iner (Iver) Ausen, aged 37, born Sweden (should be Norway), a farmer, going to Dakota and (his mother) Anna Ausen, aged 60, born Sweden (a mistake again, should be Norway), housewife, going to Wisconsin (she had other sons living in Wisconsin). Iver and his mother were using the name of the farm they lived on in Norway, as a surname on their voyage over. The rest of the family came over in 1893; Thora and the children. In the 1900 census Iver's mother, Anne Jørgensdatter, is listed with them in Rice Lake. Anne Jørgensdatter was born Aug 14th, 1830 Vågå and died April 16th, 1909 Rice Lake and is buried with Iver and family, under that surname, Jørgensdatter. Her father was Jørgen Olsen. Ivers parents, Knud Iversen and Anne Jørgensdatter, were married on Oct. 25th, 1855 at Vågå. Knud Iversen's parents were Iver Knudsen (born about 1790 in Vågå) and Gunhild Olsdatter (born about 1795 in Vågå). They lived with Knud Iversen in the 1865 Norway census, but were not listed in 1875 Norway census. Knud died on Jan. 5th, 1889, at Vågå and is buried there.

Iver's wife was Thora Olsdatter (she used the surname Moen in American records), born Oct 20th, 1856, Blakersmoen Gard, Lom, Norway. Iver and Thora were married on June 20th, 1880 at Lom, Oppland CO. Thora parents were Ole Hansen born 1821 Lom and Barbro Johnsdatter born 1829 Lom. Thora is living in the 1930 census living with her daughter Inga at Stanford, Barron CO, WI. Thora Knutson died on July 30th, 1931, North St. Paul, Ramsey CO, MN where Inga had moved to. They are all buried at Nora Cemetery of Rice Lake in Barron County, WI and their graves are marked and they are on "findagrave.com" on the internet. At the time of her death, Thora had 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and two sisters that were living in the states.

They lived and farmed at Casselton, Cass CO, ND. Christ and Hannah are buried in Lund Lutheran Cemetery, at Richwood Township, Becker CO, MN and their graves are marked. Christ's obituary said he was survived by six sons and seven daughters with 37 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Uff-da! All children were born in North Dakota. In the 1920 Cass CO ND census, the family was listed under the surname Knudtson. Children: Ida 1905, Carl 1908, Esther 1910 (Henry Loberg), Harry 1912, Glenn 1913, Anna 1915 (Edwin B. Johnson), Christina 1917 (Carl Anderson), Norman 1919, Grace 1920, Lyla 1922, Florence 1923 (Russell Osmon), Ralph 1925, and John boy 1928.
2.) (Barbro Knudsen) Barbara Knutson born at Nov. 13th, 1881 Lom, Oppland CO, Norway (recorded as Nov. 8th in American records). She died Feb. 25th, 1966, Dazey, Barnes CO, ND and buried at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery at Dazey. She married at Cloquet, Carlton CO, MN on Oct. 19th, 1901 to John Hagglund. John was born on May 5th, 1873 Sweden and died on July 2nd, 1927 Dazey. Children: Milda (Ueland) 02/05/1904 MN-06/14/1978 Barnes CO, Lawrence J. 02/30/1905- 02/08/1971 Barnes CO, Evelyn 1907 ND, Arnold 11/16/1907-05/09/1921 Barnes CO, and Edwin 01/21/1912-01/26/2001 Barnes CO.
3.) Ole J. Knutson (Knudsen) born July 9th 1884 at Vågå, Oppland CO, Norway and died before Oct of 1950. He married Margaret Clark McKinnon on April 6, 1914 at Sault Ste. Marie, Chippewa CO, MI. Margaret was born on May 22nd, 1885 in Tossorontio, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. Her parents were John Angus McKinnon and Margaret A. Clark and they are buried at Toledo Memorial Park, Toledo, Lucas CO, Ohio. Margaret Knutson died in August of 1964. But where? This info of where she died and is buried, is missing in the notes of a relative that were found online from 2005. Why? I will find them and death dates. Trust me!
Ole and Margaret are living at Portland, Multnomah CO, Oregon in the 1920 census and they are living in Detroit, Wayne CO, MI in the 1930 census. No children. Ole was an engineer in construction according to census records. Ole is deceased by October of 1950 because he is not mention as an survivor in a sibling obituary. Also he is not buried with his parents or his in-laws. We checked!
4.) Anna Knutson (Knudsen) born May 1st, 1887 at Vågå, Oppland CO, Norway and died on Jan. 1976, San Diego CA. Anna married on Sept. 23rd, 1907, at Spokane to John Albin Munson who was born March 1st, 1882 Karlstad, Värmland, Sweden. John is a brother to Oscar Munson who was married to Gunhild, Anna's sister. Two Munson brothers married two Knutson sisters. Anna and John were living at Post Falls, Kootenai CO, ID while John was in business with his older brother Edward in Confectionery store. John died on May 11th, 1956, San Diego. Anna and John are buried at Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, the mausoleum section and are pictured at "find a grave.com" on the internet. One child: Thelma Sara (Munson) Whitelock born on Jan 22nd, 1910 Spokane and died on July 13th, 1997 San Diego, CA. Also one grandson. For more on the Munson

5.) Gunhild (Gunda) Knutson (Knudsen) born July 25th, 1889 Vågå, Oppland CO, Norway. Married Oscar Munson on July 7th, 1909 in Spokane. Gunda died Oct. 1st, 1950 at Pleasant Prairie Township, near Kenosha, Kenosha CO, Wisconsin and is buried at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Kenosha. Oscar died on April 4th, 1967, Aitkin, Aitkin CO, MN. Three children: Arnold James Edward MUNSON, born March 26th, 1910, Rossland, B.C., Canada and died July 22nd, 1993 Minneapolis, MN. The other two children were born in Minnesota; Francis Kenneth MUNSON born March 21st, 1914 and died Feb.17th, 1991 and buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Aitkin and Iola G. 6.) Inga Knutson (Knudsen) born June 13th, 1892 Vågå, Oppland CO, Norway and died Oct. 10th, 1980 South St. Paul, Dakota CO, MN. She married on Oct. 28th, 1914 to Charles (Charley) Theodore Larson born Aug 20th, 1893 WI (birth date taken from his world war one draft registration). In 1931 Inga Larson is living at North St. Paul, Ramsey CO, MN. Inga remarried George P. Snyder on Oct. 5th, 1933 Dakota CO, MN. George was born on April 14th, 1886 Dundas, Rice CO, MN and died May 17th, 1963, St. Paul Ramsey CO, MN. In 1966 Inga is living at Valley City, Barnes CO, ND where her sister, Barbara was living at when she died. Inga and George are buried at Acacia Park Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN and their graves are marked. Child: Alva Larson born Aug 15th, 1915, Rice Lake-Dec. 1st, 1996 Grantsburg, Burnett CO, WI.
7.) Tena J. Knutson (Knudsen) born March 30th, 1895 Rice Lake, WI, and died Aug 31st, 1988 Rice Lake. She married on Oct. 11th, 1914 to Edward P. Jensen, born Oct. 27th, 1890 WI and died June 7th, 1985 Rice Lake. Both are buried at Nora cemetery with her parents and their graves are marked. Their children: Elmoura B. Kohel born April 25th, 1918 and died April 20th, 1993 Rice Lake, also buried at Nora cemetery and Ancel V. Jensen born July 6, 1920 Rice Lake and died Oct. 9th, 2004 Waukeska, WI. Tena had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
8.) Georgina Knutson (Knudsen) born Sept 17th, 1896 Rice Lake, WI. She married on March 28th, 1919 at Newport, Pend Oreille CO, WA to Charles Ferrin Killin (both of them were living in Spokane at the time of their marriage). Charles was born March 21st, 1896 Nashville, TN and died April 4th, 1963, WA. Charles was a carpenter and painter. Georgina died April 7th, 1978, Spokane and both are buried at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Spokane. No children.
