Joseph M. DuMouchel, 16, of Columbia, formerly of Newington, died Tuesday, (December 17, 2002) at Hartford Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in New Britain, he lived in Newington for most of his life before moving to Columbia four years ago. He was a member of the class of 2004 at Windham High School, played both JV and Varsity baseball, was a member of the DECCA Club and was a member of the American Legion baseball team. He received the COACH'S AWARD for basketball in middle school and had formerly been an active participant in Newington Little League Baseball. He was a loyal and devoted New York Yankees fan and was a part-time employee of Ted's IGA Supermarket in Hebron. He is survived by his parents; Constance (Miller) Jascowski and her husband, Thomas of Columbia, Joseph F. Klett of Newington; his grandparents, Donna Prince of Texas, Walter and Julianne Jascowski of New Britain, Kathleen M. Klett of Newington; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert L. Rhodes, Jr. and his wife, Carla and their children, Alexia and Robert L. Rhodes, III, all of Jacksonville, FL and his sister and her son, Jessica R. Palmer and Eddie Rabsch, III, of Meriden; his uncle, Rodney Menzel and his wife, Ludy of Florida; his special aunts, Lori Davis and her husband, Leon and Debbie DiPiano and her husband, Roger, all of Newington; ``big brother'' Mike DiPiano of Newington; many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his father, Allen DuMouchel of Newington. The funeral is Saturday, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 640 Willard Ave., Newington. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Calling hours are Friday, from 3-8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
