Shonye Leika Hall passed away at age 18 after a long illness. She was the daughter of Otis L. Hall Jr. and Sharon Lovelady-Hall. Shonye was an only child. She accepted Christ into her life and was an active member of Walls Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. Shonye served on the Junior Usher Board, the Buds of Promise, the Voices of Praise Choir and assisted in directing the Angels of Praise Youth Choir. She loved to dance and sing, also enjoyed reading, writing, driving her car, watching movies, music videos and spending time with her dear friend, Larsell Stovall.

Shonye was a graduate of Albany HS, class of 2002. In her senior year, she completed the Health Career Exploration Program in which she interned at Albany Medical College in pursuit of her career goal of being a physician. She was currently enrolled at Hudson Valley Community College and was accepted to attend Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. Shonye was a "Who's Who Among American High School Students" notable. In her junior year, she traveled to Spain and Africa.

Her obituary reads,

"Shonye will always be rembered for her quiet strength and faith, her loving, gentle ways and most of all, for her beautiful smile. She placed imprints on the hearts of many."
