Mr. Lorenz, who died Monday, was born in Gera, Germany, and came to Cleveland in 1908. He worked for Cleveland Hardware for more than 45 years. He had been a part-time tax consultant since his retirement.
He was a member of the Tax Club of Cleveland, the Controller's Institute of America, the Treasurers Club of Cleveland and First Church of Christ Scientist and the mother church in Boston. He was a former member of the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Euclid Masonic Lodge and Al Koran Shrine.
His wife, Ethel M. Landphair Lorenze, died two months ago. The family home is at 1327 Oakridge Road, Cleveland Heights.
Surviving are a son, Albert W.; a daughter, Alta May; two grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
