The Morning Herald (Gloversville and Johnstown, N. Y.) -- Tuesday, February 24, 1925, p. 6. J. E. MUEHLECK DIED SUNDAY Local Business Man Died Suddenly Sunday At Home In Nelliston. FORT PLAIN, Feb. 23 -- John E. Muehleck, aged 57 years, for the past 33 years a resident of Nelliston and Fort Plain, died suddenly at his home in Nelliston Sunday morning at 5 o'clock. Mr. Muehleck had been in ill health for two years. He was a son of the late Casper and Fredericka Muehleck and was born in Albany, Oct. 11, 1869. For a number of years he was in the wagon business with William Kinaman on Canal street, this village. For the past several years he was engaged in business in Nelliston. When Alfred McGlaughlin was sheriff of Montgomery county Mr. Muehleck was appointed a deputy sheriff. He was a member of Otsquago lodge, No. 507, O. O. F., of this village. The survivors are his wife, one brother, Augustus G. Muehleck of Fort Plain; three sisters, Mrs. K. M. Bomford of Dayton, O., Mrs. J. J. Morrissey of Albany, Mrs. Philip Schaefer of Brooklyn; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home. Rev. Frederick J. Melville, of White Plains, a former pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church of this village officiating. The Odd Fellows will have charge of the funeral. The remains will be place in the Catherine Nellis Memorial chapel vault and buried in the Fort Plain cemetery in the spring.
