Frank attended Nelson Public Schools and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1933. After graduating he engaged in farming. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ruth Short on November 21, 1934 in Clay Center, Nebraska. This union was blessed with 3 children, Margaret, James and Glenn.
Together they raised their family on the farm north of Nelson, later moving into Nelson in 1960. He also worked for the South Central Public Power retiring in 1980. During his lifetime Frank enjoyed life, he was a pilot, who flew his own plane and learned to water ski at the age of 50. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and visiting with family and friends especially his grandkids. Due to his health Frank moved to the Victorian Legacy in Superior, Nebraska November of 2007, and recently moved to the Good Samaritan Society where he resided until his death.
Frank was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ, Nelson Masonic Lodge #77, Eastern Star, Shriners, and was a past President of the Nelson Cemetery Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Calista; wife Dorothy on August 2, 1991, Sister Mary Harris and Brothers John, Carl and George Harris.
He is survived by his daughter Margaret Caldwell and husband Michael of Lincoln, Nebraska and sons James and wife Agnes of Hastings, Nebraska and Glenn and wife Piedad of Spring Valley, California; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
