Bristol Herald Courier, Feb 11 1948:
KINGSPORT, Tenn., Feb. 10 - Mrs. Lillie Mae Kestner, 65, died at the residence, 113 Myrtle Street, at 10:30 p.m. Monday. Born and reared near Abingdon, Va., she was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. David Davenport. She came to Kingsport in 1929 and had been a member of the Assembly of God Church since that time.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas H. Kestner; eight sons, Clarence, Fred, Roby, Paul, and Smith Kestner, all of Kingsport; Oakley Kestner, Draper, N.C., Beecher Kestner, Lynchburg, Va.; and Preston Kestner, Greensville, S.C.; a brother, Harvey Davenport, Johnson City, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. George Gobble, Meadowview, Va.;and 25 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Assembly of God Church, with the following pastors participating: the Revs. H.E. Waddle , Hugh Horne and J.W. Gladney.

Burial will be in Kingsport City Cemetery. The body will be taken to the home at 10 a.m. Wednesday and to the church at 11 a.m. Thursday to lie in state until time for services.

Pallbearers will be Clyde and Jack Kestner, Eugene and Billy Vestal, Leroy Light, Bob Cannon, Denton, and Roy Davenport.
