Anna L. "Ann" Croasman, 88, of Big Run, passed away on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital, as a result of an accident near her home several days earlier.

Mrs. Croasman was born on Nov. 3, 1927, in Marchand. Anna was a daughter of the late Ralph and Anna Hazel (Hicks) Wineberg. In 1957, she married her late husband, B. Ray Croasman, who served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

Ann was a member of the Marchand United Methodist Church from a very early age.

Mrs. Croasman worked for Punxsy Hardware and later became a stenciler for Standard Pennant, where she retired approximately five years ago. Ann was very active, exercised regularly and was in otherwise good health enjoying every moment of every day. She loved her grandchildren, tending to her flowers and the company of her cat, Callie, who was very special to her. Ann was known for her sharp mind and quick wit. For those who knew her, they all would certainly agree that her mantra was telling everyone whom she encountered, "Have a nice day." What made this special is that she meant every word because she loved life and loved people, truly believing in her heart that everyone should enjoy a nice day and the gift of life.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Jan Haag and husband Larry of Punxsutawney; her son, Jerry Croasman and wife Rose of Punxsutawney; and four grandchildren, Mallory, Asa and Auston Croasman and Aaron Haag.

In addition to her husband, B. Ray Croasman, and her parents, Ralph and Anna Wineberg, Anna was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Belle Pearce.

Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Don Brauer.

Interment will follow at the Mahoning Union Cemetery in Marchand.

Memorial donations may be made in Ann's memory to the Marchand United Methodist Church.
