--Mary Catherine Karn, 87, 473 Brown street, died Saturday afternoon at Dukes hospital after two years' illness due to complications.
--She was born in Miami county on August 12, 1863, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Kraig) Zimmerman.
--She was married to Jacob A. Karn in 1880. He preceded her in death in 1934.
--Mrs. Karn was a lifelong resident of Miami county and was a Spanish American War widow. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Peru.
--Surviving is one son, D. E. Karn of Jackson, Michigan; three brothers, Allen Zimmerman of Deedsville; Henry Zimmerman of Peru; Omer Zimmerman of Portland, O., and a sister, Mrs. Laura Whitmeyer of North Manchester, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
--The body is at the Eikenberry funeral home where services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will follow in Deedsville cemetery.
