Orville's first wife, Edna May Hill, died at 18, two days after giving birth to their daughter, Lola. He remarried eight years later, to Mary Ann Parks Buckallew.

Orville Poe
Orville Thomas Poe, 89, of 409 N 14th St., died at his home just after 12 noon Wednesday. He was a retired coal mine operator.
Mr. Poe was born Sept. 15, 1882, in Latah Co, Idaho, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Thatcher Poe. Her married Mary A. Buckallew on Dec. 10, 1912, in Asotin, Wash.
He attended schools in Moscow, Idaho, and worked in road construction. He ranched in Musselshell County and operated a coal mine near Roundup. He was with the Antelope Coal Co. in Billings when he retired.
He had lived in Billings since 1929. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Cecil, of Whitefish; a daughter, Mrs. Lola Lees of Livingston; a brother, Ernest W. Poe of Clarkston, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Baker and Mrs. Pearl Gibson, both of Spokane; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Smith's Funeral Chapel, with burial in Mountview Cemetery.
