LeGrande was a very talented guy who loved his family very much. He was a rodeo announcer and saddle maker. He was a very special person to a lot of family. He was the eighth child to Reuben and Blonda Quarnberg. He had a sister and a brother who both died as small children. He had six kids of his own along with numerous grandkids and great grandkids.
Obituary printed in Salt Lake Tribune on April 26, 2011:
We are saddened by the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, LeGrande Jay Quarnberg. Our Cowboy rode on to his next rodeo on April 23, 2011.

He was born to Reuben and Blonda Quarnberg on July 31, 1925. He was raised in Scipio, Utah along with nine brothers and sisters.

He married his sweetheart, Helen Hansen, on August 9, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti, Utah Temple.

Jay was a proud veteran having served in the Navy during World War II and later in the Army National Guard. He loved the rodeo life and created many family memories as they traveled throughout the intermountain west. Jay became a favorite rodeo announcer and enjoyed the many friendships that were made following the rodeo trail.

Another of his favorite activities was deer hunting and being in the mountains, especially those above Scipio. He had many stories of the "Deer Hunt" which he loved to tell. His love of storytelling will be remembered fondly by family and friends. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he had a strong testimony of the gospel.

His is survived by his daughter Susan (Brian) Sagers; and sons Mike (Kristine), Randy (Margie), Rex (Sandra), and Reuben (Robyn) Quarnberg. He was loved by all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and son Mark.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tooele Eleventh Ward Chapel, 180 South Coleman, Tooele. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main Street, Tooele, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before the services at the Church.
