Our loving sister, mother, aunt, friend, and grandmother, passed away October 21, 2001 after an optimistic yet valiant battle with cancer. Marilyn Joy Mismash was as her name - a joy in all things.

She had great love and compassion for all. She was our best confidant, advisor and friend. She was a straight shooter--she told it like it was.

Bringing laughter during hard times you could always depend on her. She was born Feb 18, 1930 in Murray, UT to Arthur Joshua Mackay and Elda Merle Reynolds. She attended BYU and fulfilled a mission to the central states. She continued her service at the church offices where she retired after 28 years.

A devout member of the LDS Church, she practiced and she preached. She excelled in speaking, cooking, ceramics, music, gardening, and bringing beauty to all she touched.

She married the love of her life, Frank Mismash, Nov 14, 1974 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She always said he was the cream of the crop.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Frank; sister, Louise; and brothers, Grant, Clayton. Survived by sister, Carol (Cherie) and Ron Birch; stepmother, Nedra Mackay; stepsons, Jerrold, and

Jim and Lynda Mismash; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchil-dren; many loving nieces and nephews; and those who considered her their second mom. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs. She will be greatly missed.

Services, Wed. Oct 24, 2001, 12 noon, Wesley Road Chapel, 5235 S. Wesley Rd (1090 E). Friends may call Tues. Oct 23, 6-8 p.m., Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, Murray and Wed. at the church 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
