US Congressman. Born in Maryland, he moved to Mansfield, Ohio, studied law, was admitted to the bar, practiced law and was an associate judge of the Ohio Court of Common Pleas in 1820 and 1827. In 1833, he was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth Congresses, serving until 1837. He died at age 78 in Van Wert, Ohio.
