Portland resident Dorothy Hawkins died Sunday, April 24, in Gresham. She was 82.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Lynchwood Church of God, 3818 S.E. 174th Ave., Portland. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Dorothy was born June 9, 1928, in St. Maries, Idaho, to Percy and Jennet (Smyth) Harmon.
On Jan. 30, 1952, she married Leonard Hawkins at University Park United Methodist Church in North Portland. He preceded her in death in February 2006.
Dorothy volunteered at many places including Lynchwood Church of God, Village Health Care Center and at Centennial High School as a baseball scorekeeper. She was a caregiver for her grandchildren for many years. She enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her son, Len Hawkins of Gresham; daughter, Terri Acred of Gresham; brother, Ed Harmon of Prineville; sister, Guelda Johnson of Lewistown, Mont.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
